Bonsucro Global Week postponed to 2021
After careful consideration and risk assessment, Bonsucro’s Board of Directors has decided to postpone Bonsucro Global Week until March 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. We are disappointed that we cannot host our flagship event – and we’re very sorry for any inconvenience caused. However, the health and safety of our staff, our members and the general public during this epidemic is the priority.
Coronavirus is spreading rapidly, and the dynamic situation has meant that several organisations have stopped all non-essential travel. So, in addition to health risks, not all prospective attendees would have been able to come.
We are working to secure a date for the event at the Hotel Riu in Guadalajara, Mexico in March 2021.
The event would have provided an opportunity to consult stakeholders on the Production Standard revision and update members on the changes to our Code of Conduct and the Grievance Mechanism. It was also going to be the launch of our annual outcome report. We are working on the best way to share this key information with everyone through virtual meetings.
Bonsucro Global Week is a fantastic opportunity to meet others in the sector, learn from each other, share ideas about sustainability in sugarcane and renew and build friendships. We’re truly sorry that it can’t take place this year, but we really hope you will join us in 2021.
